Letterpress Museum

palouse printing museum

This past weekend I made my friends go with me to the Printing Museum in Palouse, WA. Luckily we had a home-base in the bustling metropolis of Pullman, just 15 miles south. The Museum is only open by appointment; the lovely Bob West opened  it up for us on short notice (He is very nice!). It was nice to see the differently types of presses and see some of them working. I also got to see two presses that are in the same family as mine, working. This calmed some of my fears about not being able to find all the parts because I don’t know what to call them!

The space that the collection is located in is quite lovely as well.

Bob also let us take some of the cast letters as souvenirs!

Also, if you do make it to Palouse, be sure to check out the antique stores. They are well stocked, not picked over and quite reasonably priced too!

Have a wonderful day!
